A group, the Ekiti PDP Elders’ Forum, has accused the Federal Government of harassing and intimidating the Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose and top officials of the state government through institutions such as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Department of State Security (DSS) among others. The group, therefore, called on the Presidency to stop such acts in the interest of peace and harmony in the country. Speaking on behalf of the group in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday, former Deputy Governor, Chief Paul Alabi said the latest freezing of the account of Governor Fayose was the last straw that broke the camel’s back. The Lagos State Government and the City of Dubai on Monday entered into a historic partnership that will see Lagos emerge as the first Smart City in Africa. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the Lagos Smart City was signed at the Emirate Towers, Dubai by the Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Mr. Adeniji Kazeem and the Chief Executive Officer of Smart City Dubai LLC, Mr. Jabber Bin Hafez. Isaac Adewole, minister of health, has directed chief medical directors (CMDs) and medical directors (MDs) of federal government tertiary health institutions to fill the vacancies created by resident doctors who have “abandoned” their training programme. According to Boade Akinola, spokesperson of the ministry, the directive was contained in a circular signed by Amina Shamaki, permanent secretary of the ministry. The circular reads: “It has come to the notice of the management of the ministry that some resident doctors in your establishment have voluntarily withdrawn from the residency training program by refusing to report for training without authorisation. public service rule, PSR 030402 (e) is relevant. “This is in spite of the ongoing negotiations on their demands put forward by the representatives of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) under the auspices of the Nigerian Medical Association. “In view of this development, you are hereb...

A guy identified as Grace who reportedly seduced a man from a bar at the Mumias area of Kenya, have been arrested by the Police during the weekend. It was gathered that the incident occured when a man had paid Grace and booked for a room in a nearby hotel for the deed to be done, and later discovered that Grace was a fellow man packaged in wigs and makeup. The man raised an alarm and an angry mob responded and almost lynched Grace who reportedly ran to a nearby police station for refuge. Grace was was released shortly afterwards as nobody came forward to lodge a statement against her/him.

Ebonyi State Police Command have confirmed on Saturday that 12 students of Ginger International School in the state had been hospitalised after they were administered with a de-worming drugs by the school authority. Reports gathered that the students were rushed to the Federal Teaching Hospital (FETHA) Abakaliki, and Police clinic in the state for immediate medical attention when they became unconscious. DSP George Okafor, the command’s spokesman, who confirmed the incident to NAN said that the proprietor and head of the school had been invited for questioning. “We are going to investigate the matter thoroughly to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident,” he said. Veteran Music Producer Babatunde Okungbowa popularly known as OJB Jezreel who was earlier reported died has a kidney transplant in July 2013 and passed away today 14th June 2016, 3 years after. His kidney was said to have failed last week and his family had to keep him on N35, 000 dialysis daily to overcome the relapse. Sadly, he passed away at 49 years old, just a month to his 50th birthday and his body has been deposited in a morgue at Isolo General Hospital. He survived by three wives which was legally married to and eight children. His first wife, Mabel and her three kids were staying with him at his Surulere home before his demise. She is fondly called Mama J by her husband and friends. His second wife June ‘Ama’ Okungbowa, a graduate of University of Lagos had three children for him.
