After many days of waiting, Nigerian playwright and poet, Wole Soyinka has kept his pledge by destroying his American Green Card. Nobel prize-winning author Wole Soyinka has finally destroyed his US residency green card. He made the revelation on Thursday after he had pledged to destroy the card if Donald Trump wins the presidential election. According to an AFP report, Soyinka said he destroyed his green card during a conference at the University of Johannesburg. “I have already done it, I have disengaged (from the United States). I have done what I said I would do,” the 82-year-old said on the sidelines of an education conference at the University of Johannesburg.

A former Governor of Abia State, Orji Kalu, on Wednesday said that he joined the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) so that they (Nigerians) will know that APC was not ‘an ethnic or religious party’. The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three internet fraudsters, who until their arrest, were into cyber crime, popularly known as “yahoo plus”. This was made known by the Police Public Relations (PPRO), SP Adekunle Ajisebutu, in a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan. According to Ajisebutu, “their arrest was made possible following a tip-off by members of the public. “The suspects, Lanre (26), Sukanmi (28) and Opeyemi (26) were picked up from their hideout at Soka area, Ibadan, at about 6.30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 16 by the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad. “The suspects who had been elusive for some time now, were eventually arrested after several days of intelligence gathering and painstaking investigation carried out by the police. “During interrogation, the suspects confessed to being internet fraudsters and had defrauded many innocent victims they referred to as ‘clients’ of their hard-earned money in Naira and foreign currencies. Residents petition for Donald Trump’s name – Residents of the Trump Place apartment complex on Manhattan’s Upper West Side started an online petition to have the landlord of the complexes, Equity Residential, change the name of the properties. The petition garnered almost 600 signatures and their petition was granted. According to CNBC, residents of the three apartment complexes received a notice Tuesday from the general manager to inform them that the signs will be removed. A spokesperson told CNBC: “We are currently in the process of changing the name of the buildings at 140, 160 and 180 Riverside to their street addresses.” “We are assuming a more neutral building identity that will appeal to all current and future residents.” The Trump Place signs were later seen being removed. A housewife, identified as Mrs. Ogenyi, has been beaten to stupor by her angry husband for allegedly investing the family’s saving in Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox, otherwise known as MMM. DAILY POST gathered that problem ensued between the couple, who resides on Balogun Street, Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos Sunday afternoon, after the husband returned from a trip to his hometown in Benue and discovered that the family saving box was missing. On inquiry from his son, Oche, the father was informed that the mother went out with her friend around 4pm and had not returned. The husband who works as a driver with one of the commercial transport companies later found the saving box broken and empty in the wardrobe.
