Curtis Hanson, director of L.A. Confidential and 8 Mile, dies aged 71

Curtis Hanson, who directed Eminem’s 2002 hip-hop drama. 8 Mile, has died. 
   
He was 71. Hanson died Tuesday of an apparent heart attackat his Hollywood Hills home, reports TMZ.       

 Hanson most recently directed the 2012 surfing movie Chasing Mavericks but left the production because of an undisclosed illness. Michael Apted completed the picture, and Hanson never directed a film again.

JUST IN: Akure On Fire Over Jimoh Ibrahim’s Emergence As PDP Candidate (PHOTOS)

Dissatisfied with the emergence of Jimoh Ibrahim as candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), suspected political thugs gave blocked major highways in Akure ahead of November 26 governorship election. The protesters believed to be loyal to Eyitayo Jegede, candidate of the Senator Ahmed makarfi-led PDP burn tires on the highway awaiting the arrival of Jimoh Ibrahim who is reportedly paying a visit to state today.  See photos below:
