Wizkid, Davido Welcome Ycee To Sony Music

Fast-rising rapper, Ycee has joined the big leagues after penning a music deal with SONY Music. The deal makes the rapper the third Nigerian artiste snapped up by Sony Music Entertainment this year after Davido and Wizkid.

Ycee’s first E.P, The First Wave will now be released under the International music company.

With this move, Ycee joins Nigerian superstars Davido and Wizkid as part of the Sony Music family.

Speaking on the deal, General Manager, Sony Music West Africa, Michael Ugwu, said, ‘I’m extremely proud to welcome Ycee to the Sony Music Entertainment West Africa family. I’ve watched this team grow over the past few years and I am amazed at how they have navigated the industry to reach this stage. Ycee is the future of Hip Hop in Africa and will be front and centre of SME West Africa’s strategy as we take Africa to the World’.

I was beaten, forced into prostitution in Italy – 18-year-old Nigerian

An 18-year-old Nigerian lady identified only as Victoria, who was allegedly lured into prostitution in Italy, has narrated her ordeal in the hands of her traffickers. Victoria recounted how her unnamed trafficker promised her a better life and education and she was lured into prostitution. She said this while speaking with a British Television network, ITV, from a small cafe house in Turin, a shelter for rescued Nigerian prostitutes. According to her, “They promised me an education.
